Restaurant Palacký has two dining rooms that are situated above each other and thereby create an impression of an atrium with a glass gallery, from which guests may enjoy a view of the restaurant room below. The capacity of the restaurant room on the ground floor is 30 seats. The gallery restaurant room offers an additional capacity of 36 seats and the summer terrace another 40 seats. The price for accommodation includes a buffet-style breakfast.

In addition, the guests may order half board or full board, which allows them to assemble their own three-course menu. Breakfast is also offered to guests who are not staying at our hotel.
The restaurant menu created by our experienced executive chef may boast a variegated culinary selection of exquisite specialities of modern world cuisine. Our waiting staff is at your service and ready to recommend premium wines of world brands to our delicious cuisine.

In the high season from spring to autumn, guests may sit and relax in the outside café on the pedestrian zone in front of Hotel Palacký. Table service in the outside café is provided by our hotel waiting staff. Every year at the turn of June and July, when the city hosts the annual Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, the outside café becomes an attractive spot where you may meet many film stars and celebrities.

    Aenean Nec Eros

  • The house is first mentioned in written records in 1756 when it was in the possession of spa physician, Dr. Küffner Jr., who had also probably funded and ordered its construction.  According to records, the subsequent owners of the property included the widow of Carlsbad Councillor Alex Decraux (between 1771 and 1788) and Josef Knoll Sr. (1826).

    Dr. Küffner Jr.

  • In 1803, the house was half-timbered with a shingle roof, it had six lines of windows in its forefront and three floors with an oriel. In 1826, when the house was known as Rotes Herz (The Red Heart), it was insured for 4,000 guldens, which was a very high sum for that time.

    Roof Renovation

  • The house is the birthplace of Eduard Knoll, a highly noted Carlsbad Mayor, who has left an indelible mark in the history of the spa town not only for his immense beneficial endeavour and service as the town mayor, but also for his tragic death while participating in rescue work during a devastating flood on 24 November 1890.
The current architectonic character of the hotel is the result of a radical reconstruction carried out in the 1900s and subsequent modifications of the interior effected in the course of the 20th century.
